The 36th Hong Kong Products Expo A Showcase of Hong Kong Brands

The 36th Hong Kong Products Expo (HKPE), organized by the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (CMA), successfully came to an end on January 7, 2002 at Tamar Site. More than 200 exhibitors took part in the 24-day Expo, displaying and selling a wide spectrum of good quality products at over 520 indoor and outdoor booths. Succeeding the tradition of the preceding Expos, the 36th HKPE, under the theme of "HKPE: A Showcase of Hong Kong Brands" aggregated and promoted high quality local brands to help manufacturers to explore business opportunities and to promote trade and industry in Hong Kong. The Expo hit a record of more than 1.3 million visitors.

Newly Established "Brandname Square" in Open Area

Covering a total area of about 5,000 square meters with over 120 standard booths, the "Brandname Square" provided an ideal platform for the assembly and promotion of local high quality brands. At the center of the "Brandname Square", a 10-meter high ferris wheel was set up to display various famous local brands. This giant embellishment became the landmark as well as the focus of the Expo. Exhibitors in the Square came from either traditional Hong Kong companies or emerging local enterprises. Their brands were well-known to the public, such as Aji Ichiban, Goodway, German Tops, AXE, Hang Heung, Wai Yuen Tong, Dai Pai Dong, Garden, Tung Fong Hung, Wing Wah, A-Fontane, Flower, Aqua Pure, Golden Elephant Brand, Maid Brand and Lo Hong Ka, etc.
