3. Macau Day
To celebrate the first anniversary of the reunification of Macau with the People's Republic of China, CMA organized the "First Anniversary of the Return of Macau to China" programme at the fairground of the 35th HKPE on December 29, 2000. Distinguished guests were invited to attend the event. A 100-member delegation from Macau including Chief Executive of Macau SAR Mr Edmund Ho Hau Wah, Chairman of Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute Dr Lee Pang Hong, Member of the Executive Council and Legislative Council Mr Vitor Ng, Director of Macau Government Tourist Office Mr Joao M. Costa Antunes, President of the Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Macau Mr Stanley Au Chong Kit, Deputy Director of Macau Post Office Ms Lau Wai Ming, as well as Deputy Commissioner of the China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in HKSAR Mr Zou Zeh Cai and Chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce Dr Robin Chan also attended the event.

At the opening ceremony of the programme, CMA President Mr Chan Wing Kee delivered a welcoming speech and presented a souvenir to Mr Edmund Ho, followed by a wide variety of performances. Accompanied by CMA President, Assistant President and Assistant to Presidents, the VIPs visited the Macau Pavilion of the Expo. The CMA representatives included Vice-Presidents Mr Herbert Liang, Mr Yip Hing Chung, Dr Jose Yu, Dr Lui Ming Wah, Mr Lam Fai Shat, Mr Eddie Lu, Assistant to President Mr Lam Hok Po, Executive Committee Members Mr Chow Yun Sheung, Mr Choi Tak Ho, General Committee Members Mr Chan Kim Sing, Dr Yung Yau, Mr Fung Yuen Hon, Mr Paul Chu, Mr Yim Chan Chee, Mr Chow Lam Boon, Mr Ho Yuk Wing, Dr Dennis Yip and Ms Cammy Chan.
