8. Booth
Design Competition
The Booth Design Competition has been one of the highlights
of the HKPE since its inception. As preceding Expos,
this year many exhibitors put much effort in booth design
and product display in order to attract more visitors.
They all tried hard to make their booths look as elegant
and outstanding as possible. CMA invited representatives
from six co-organizers as judges of the competition.
They included Acting Deputy Executive Director of Hong
Kong Tourist Association Mr Tony Tse, Head of Design of Hong Kong Trade Development
Council Mr Matthew Leung, Director of The Hong Kong
General Chamber of Commerce Dr Eden Woon, Vice-Chairman
of Young Executives' Sub-committee of The Chinese General
Chamber of Commerce Mr Peter Tse, Director of Design
Protection Centre of Federation of Hong Kong Industries
Mr Liu Kwok Bond, and Vice Chief Executive of The Hong
Kong Chinese Enterprises Association Mr Zhu Shixiong.
To cater for different design requirements
of indoor and outdoor booths, the competition this
year was specially divided into Outdoor Booth Category
and Indoor Booth Category. The judges visited the
booths during the Expo for assessment. Finally, six
winners were chosen according to the selection criteria
including overall design, product display and integration
of booth design with product features for the best
effect. Goodway Electrical Enterprise Ltd won both
the overall champion and champion of the Outdoor Booth
Category. The spectacular booth design coupled with
the creative product design brought Goodway the above
awards. Mutual Prosper Co. Ltd won the first runner-up
because of its trendy booth design and well-arranged
exhibits. The second runner-up went to Tsit Wing Coffee
Co. Ltd for its simple booth design and clear theme.
In the Indoor Booth Category, Information Technology
and Broadcasting Bureau, with its innovative and IT-focused
design, won the champion. The first runner-up was
Hong Kong Productivity Council as the design of the
booth was extraordinary. By adopting a circus theme
and creating an exciting and pleasant atmosphere,
Nin Jiom Medicine Mfy. (HK) Ltd won the second runner-up.
The prize presentation of the competition was held
on December 20, 2000 at the exhibition venue. |
