4. Christmas E-card Design Competition

Christmas E-card Design Competition was organized for the first time in line with the 36th HKPE. The competition was open to full time students in secondary schools, universities and professional institutes in order to enhance the public understanding and awareness of the 36th HKPE as well as Hong Kong's industry as a whole. Ming Pao Newspaper Limited was the co-organizer of the event.

The judging panel was chaired by CMA Vice-President Mr Chow Yun Sheung, with Mr Paul Yin, Executive Committee Members Dr Yip Chi Kwong, Ms Cecilia Chen, General Committee Member Mr Fung Yuen Hon, Mr Franki Fung, principals of CMA Secondary School and CMA Choi Cheung Kok Secondary School Mr Ying Yu-hing and Mr Fan Kam-ping.

At the prize presentation ceremony of Christmas E-card Design Competition held on 10 December, 2001, Chairman of the 36th Hong Kong Products Expo Executive Committee Dr Jose Yu presented prizes to the winners. The champion was awarded a cash prize of HK$10,000 and a trophy while each of the other three merit-prize winners received a cash prize of HK$2,000 and a certificate.

5. Photo Contest

To enhance public understanding and awareness of the Expo and Hong Kong's industry, CMA continued to organize the "Glimpse of the 36th HKPE" Photo Contest. Nearly 600 photos demonstrating a wide variety of topics from Miss Exhibition Pageant contestants, specially-decorated booths, night scene of the Expo, brilliant performances and crowding scenes were received.

Co-organized by Ta Kung Pao and the Photographic Society of Hong Kong and solely sponsored by the Stereo Limited, the contest included three top prizes and ten merit-prizes. The judging panel, chaired by CMA General Committee Member and Chairman of the Publicity Committee of the Expo Mr Fung Yuen Hon, with renowned photographers Mr Chan Fu Li, Mr Kan Hing Foh, Mr Ng Lin Sing, Dr Leo K K Wong, Editor of the photography page of Ta King Pao Mr Lau Pui Hang and Chairman of the Photographic Society of Hong Kong Mr Yam Sik, finally selected the winners.

The champion, first runner-up and second runner-up were each awarded a trophy, a cash prize of HK$6,000 and a video-camera, HK$4,000 and a camera and HK$2,000 and a camera respectively. Each merit-prize winner was awarded a certificate, a cash prize of HK$1,000 and a sticker-camera.
