  1994 Exhibition
 

At the press conference on November 31, 1994, all contestants appeared in cheongsams sponsored by Yue Hwa Chinese Products Emporium Ltd in the China Club. Their oriental looks attracted extensive media coverage. On that day, contestants voted for the Miss Exhibition in their eyes. Ms Jessie Ng of Roy Mark (Asia) Ltd received highest number of votes and won.

To let the exhibition visitors actively participate in the Pageant, the Association had set up a promotional panel inside the exhibition hall of the 32nd Exhibition showing the contestants’ official photos and their booth numbers. Leaflets containing information of the contestants were also produced and distributed to every visitor. In the four-day Exhibition, visitors were very enthusiastic in voting for their ideal Miss Exhibition. Many of them even took photos with the contestants and asked for their signatures.

On November 7, 1994, the following day after the 32nd Exhibition, a press conference was held at Hotel Victoria to announce the six finalists and introduce the judges in the final round to the media. The six finalists included Ns Carmen Wong, Ms Roy Hui, Ms Fiona Yu, Ms Jocelyn Tsui, Ms Patty Hui and Ms Men Qing Hua. The five judges included Mrs Irene Yau, ISO, JP, Director of Information Services from Information Services Department who was also the Chairman

of the Judging Panel, Mr Alexander Au, JP, Managing Director and CEO of Hang Seng Bank Ltd., Dr Chiang Chen, Director of Chen Hsong Holdings Ltd., Mrs Anna Sohmen and Mrs Loletta Fok.

The final of the 32nd Miss Exhibition Pageant was held during the CMA's Anniversary Dinner on November 9, 1994 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and telecasted by Television Broadcast Ltd.

 

During the first round of the final, the six finalists appeared in evening gowns and casual wears, and answered questions on how to promote various kinds of industrial products ranging from a spoon to a half-century old iron. With reference to the CMA President Mr Herbert Liang (2nd from left) chaired the press conference for the 32nd Miss Exhibition Pageant on October 20, 1994.
following three criteria, i. manner and appearance, ii. communications skills and iii. understanding of Hong Kong's industry, the judging panel selected three contestants, including Ms Fiona Yu, Ms Roy Hui and Ms Men Qing Hua, to enter the second round of the competition. They were required to answer an identical question on how to promote the industry of Hong Kong. The answers and performance then determined their positions.
